Supercharged Coffee Crisp Smoothie
Inspired by my friend Liz Dornian’s Tahini Date Smoothie, I made my own version and I’m addicted. This smoothie has been on repeat every morning and it ticks all the boxes. 36g of protein, just the right amount caffeine, easy to make and most of all, delicious.
As a busy mom of 2 who’s in the kitchen A LOT making tasty and delicious meals for other busy moms, I’m always looking for ways to simplify my morning routine. This smoothie hits 2 birds with one stone and it takes about 2 minutes flat to make (and this includes rinsing out the blender afterward!)
I’m usually a savoury and hot breakfast kinda gal. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll often see my breakfast consisting of eggs on rotation with noodles, rice or toast. I’m not sure if it’s because of the summer heat but I haven’t been feeling like the regular rotation of things these days. But my top requirement is to start the day with a high protein meal and this does the trick.
Ingredients
1 banana
2 Tbsp Tahini
2 Tbsp cacao nibs
1 scoop protein powder (i use Body Energy Club’s Clean Isolate Vanilla )
2tsp Creatine (optional)
1 cup ice
1 cup mylk of choice (I use Silk unflavoured soy milk for easy extra protein)
1 Tbsp date syrup (or 1 medjool date)
1 scoop Four Sigmatic Focus (or 1/2 cup brewed coffee)
1/4 tsp cardamom
Method
Combine all incredients in a high speed blender and blend to smooth consistency. Top with more cacao nibs for extra crunch.
Fair warning: this smoothie will change your life. You can thank me later ;)
